Shining Gum is a tall tree species native to high altitude areas of eastern Victoria and southern NSW.

Its timber is a versatile interior hardwood of medium density that is used in construction, flooring and furniture making. It is a pale colour with some contrast in the timber that can be accented in the finish. Hints of pink, brown and yellow can be discerned in pieces.
